Rotofen - Musi
22 years ago Horst Ernst (dulcimer), Wasti Irlinger (guitar), Schorsch Giritzer (contrabass), Hans Vonderthann (trombone) und Engelbert Aigner (accordion) found another to make folkmusic together in a band called “Rotofen-Musi). The name Rotofen means a part of a famous mountain in Berchtesgaden - the sleeping witch. It´s also the favorite mountain of Engelbert Aigner.
In those years we became popular because of our typical music-style and our selfmade pieces of music. Since 1990 we make music together with 2 musician from Salzburger, the clarinetists Anton Gmachl and Sepp Edelbacher known as Rotofen-Klarinettenmusi. In 1999 the Pinzgauer Musicians Andreas and Christian Wimmer from Lofer with their trompets and Georg Hirschbichler from St.Martin with an F-Bass came to our group, since this time we play also as Oi-Mitanand-Musi.
We made a lot of TV-shootings with the Bavarian Broadcasting Company (BR), the Austrian Television (ORF) and regional TV-companys.
We often play at events from Trachten-Vereinen such as Folk-dances, Oktoberfest or Gaufest.
